Margaret SheppeckMargaret Sheppeck has been teaching citizenship classes for over fifteen years. She is a life-long South Boston resident with a long history of helping immigrants to become citizens. She has a B.A. from UMass Boston. She teaches an evening citizenship class at BEST Corp.

Joanne S. LeeJoanne S. Lee, R.S. teaches Food Safety at BEST Corp. She is the former Deputy Commissioner for the City of Boston Elderly Commission and MA State Director of the Elderly Nutrition Program. A registered sanitarian and nutritionist, Joanne has over 30 years of experience in the food service industry. Joanne is a certified trainer with the National Registry of Food Safety Professionals and a graduate of UMass Amherst. Her experience working with state, city and federal agencies, private industry, hospitals, institutional food service kitchens and schools has given her a unique insight and training ability to successfully prepare food service workers for food safety certification

Dorothy DowneyDorothy Downey has been helping people to unlock their potential and access their BEST for over 20 years. As a certified Coach, her professional experience includes Wellness, Hospitality, and Education for Boston Public Schools. While working for Modern Assistance Programs, Inc. (a comprehensive employee assistance program), Dorothy gained much insight into the needs of the working families of the hotel industry. She empowers individuals to achieve personal and professional growth that lead to more meaning and fulfillment in life. Clients gain skills, practice balance, and become eligible for a better income! Also voted "Boston’s Best Bartender", Dorothy teaches TiPs, TEAM, Chokesaver and Food Safety.

Joe WeinerJoe Weiner teaches computer classes at Hotel Training Center. He is interested in the ways in which technology can enhance education, share information, and bring individuals together. Joe is inspired to teach and develop a comprehensive curriculum to foster students' understanding and confidence with computers. Joe began his career in the technology industry in 1999. His past experience includes over 5 years as an Information Technology specialist. He has also worked as a PHP developer at Harvard University. He received his CompTIA A+ certification as a computer technician after attending Clark Computer Career Institute. He earned a Bachelor's degree in English/Communications from Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts in 1998.

Farika WislederFarika Wisleder previously taught ESL at EC Boston, and lived and taught EFL in Indonesia and China.  Her approach to teaching and learning a second or third language is mostly based on the experiential learning cycle She earned her M.A. in Teaching from the SIT Graduate Institute in Vermont.  Outside of work, Farika enjoys cooking, traveling, and spending time with her family.  She has tried all kinds of spicy food from variety of Asian, South American, and African food, and would love to take more opportunity to try more variety of spicy food.

Rachel WyonRachel Wyon teaches English for Hospitality at BEST Corp. Rachel has over 30 years of experience teaching English in the US, Nicaragua and India.  She has Massachusetts certification in ESL, a Masters of Arts degree in ESL from UMass Boston and earned Masters Plus credits while teaching the Cambridge Public Schools. Previously she also taught adults in Boston at Casa del Sol Adult Learning Center and in Cambridge at the Community Learning Center. She is bilingual in Spanish and English and has some conversational skills in French, Portuguese and Hindi. Rachel was born in India and has lived in Central America and South America; she is always interested in learning about the cultures of her students and hopes to continue traveling to many new parts of the world.

Lori SylviaLori Sylvia teaches the Room Attendant Training Program. She has over 15 years of experience in Human Resources, most recently with The Boston Park Plaza Hotel & Towers and The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company. Lori brings a wealth of knowledge to the classroom with her hotel experience as well as her expertise in teaching topics such as customer service and professionalism. She has managed hotel recruitment and provided career counseling to countless hotel associates. She is certified in the behavioral interview techniques used by Starwood Hotels and The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company. She has a BA in Psychology from Bates College and a Human Resource Management Certificate from Bentley University.
