In 2004, Boston Education, Skills & Training (BEST) Corp. was formed as an independent non-profit 501C3 organization focusing on workforce development and the creation of a Hotel Training Center. The majority of our funding comes from the Greater Boston Hotel Employees (GBHE) /Local 26 Trust Fund. BEST trainees benefit from a strong working relationship with UNITE HERE Local 26 and the local hotel employers. GBHE/Local 26 Trust Fund (supported by a collaboration of 21 different hotel partners) and UNITE HERE Local 26 (Hotel Employees and Restaurant Employees Union) have a long history of working together to provide comprehensive services to hotel workers. Through the collective bargaining agreement, an education and skills training fund was established. BEST Corp. is the provider of these educational services. BEST Corp. also receives or has received grants from the generous private, state and federal funding sources listed below. These grants allow us to expand and improve our services:
